Technology & AI consultancy

Know what's worth doing before you spend on doing it.

Vendor-neutral advice on AI strategy, digital transformation, data, architecture, automation and training — before you commit budget to building anything.

The problem

A lot of businesses come to us with a real question but not a real plan: "should we be doing something with AI?", "is our tech stack actually holding us back or are we just used to it?", "we have data everywhere and no idea what to do with it." Nobody wants to spend on a build before they know if it's the right build.

That's where consultancy sits — before the forward-deployed engineer sits in your team, before an automation gets piloted, before a system gets rebuilt. We look at the whole picture, tell you plainly what's worth doing and what isn't, and hand you a roadmap you can act on with us or with anyone else.

We don't sell a specific product in these sessions, and we say so upfront: the advice is vendor-neutral, and if the honest answer is "don't spend money on this yet," that's what you'll hear.

What we do

CapabilityWhat you get
AI strategy & adoption roadmapA written, prioritised plan for where AI genuinely helps your business, and where it doesn't
Digital transformation advisoryAn assessment of current processes and systems with a realistic transformation sequence
Data & analytics strategyA plan for what data you have, what you're missing, and how to turn it into decisions
Technology & architecture reviewAn independent assessment of your current stack and a shortlist of viable paths forward
Process & automation consultingA ranked map of manual processes worth automating, feeding directly into a pilot if you choose one
Product & go-to-market advisoryStructured input on positioning, roadmap sequencing and build-vs-buy decisions
Training & L&D strategyA skills gap assessment and a training plan, deliverable through our own corporate training if you want it

How we work

1
Scoping call

Free, 30 minutes: what question are you actually trying to answer

2
Discovery

Structured interviews and a review of current systems, process and data

3
Assessment

An honest, written view of what's working, what isn't, and why

4
Roadmap

A prioritised, sequenced plan you can execute with us or independently

5
Handover or continuation

You choose: take the roadmap and run it yourself, or move to implementation with us

Engagement models

ModelBest forBasis
Fixed-fee assessmentA single strategic question, answered properlyFixed fee, scoped upfront
Roadmap engagementA multi-area review with a full transformation planFixed fee for a defined scope and duration
Advisory retainerOngoing strategic input as decisions come upMonthly, a set number of advisory hours
Board/leadership briefingA single decision needing outside perspectivePer session

A single-question assessment is a fixed, scoped fee; a full roadmap engagement is quoted after the scoping call based on how many areas it covers. We do not price blind, and we do not upsell implementation you don't need.

**What this isn't.** Consultancy here is advice, not a sales channel for our own build services. If the honest recommendation is to do nothing yet, or to use a different vendor for implementation, that's what the roadmap will say. We're vendor-neutral by design — the assessment is worth the same whether or not you hire us afterward.

What you get

  • A written assessment of the current state, in plain language
  • A prioritised, sequenced roadmap with rough effort for each item
  • A clear view of what to do yourselves, what to outsource, and what to skip
  • A handover document your own team or any vendor can act on

Who this is for

  • Leadership teams asking "where do we even start with AI"
  • Businesses unsure whether their current stack is holding them back
  • Organisations with data but no strategy for using it
  • Anyone who wants an independent view before committing to a vendor or a build

Who it's not for

  • Anyone who has already decided what to build and just wants it built — go straight to web & app development, AI automation, or a forward-deployed engineer
  • Anyone looking for a rubber-stamp on a decision already made

How we've approached work like this

Anonymised summaries; some are illustrative of our approach.

How we'd approach this — illustrative — retail chain · AI adoption roadmap

The problem: Leadership wants to "do something with AI" but has no view of where it would actually help.

What we did: A structured review of stores, inventory and customer-facing processes, ranking where AI would save real time versus where it would just be for show.

The result: Illustrative worked example — not a completed engagement — to show how this would be scoped.

Questions, answered

Do we have to hire you for implementation afterward?

No. The roadmap is yours to execute with your own team, another vendor, or us — whichever fits.

How is this different from the forward-deployed engineer service?

Consultancy answers "what should we do and in what order"; the forward-deployed engineer then sits inside your team and builds it.

What if the answer is "you don't need this"?

We say so. A shorter, honest engagement is worth more to you than a padded one.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, before any discovery work that touches your data, systems or strategy.

How long does a roadmap engagement take?

Scoped at the outset based on how many areas it covers — stated as a duration, not left open-ended.

Let's talk about consultancy.

On a 30-minute call we find out what question you're actually trying to answer, and tell you honestly whether a paid engagement is worth it yet.
